Behind the brand is founder Julia – Brisbane-based, mum of two, and self-confessed lover of life’s little luxuries – the kind you carve out for yourself between the chaos and commitments. An introvert at heart, she’s long believed in the power of self care to recharge her energy and restore the mind. It’s this deep appreciation for personal space, ritual, and renewal that inspired her to create The Smallest Room.

Before building a brand, Julia built a career, with 15 years in the corporate world, as an accountant and project manager. The work was fulfilling, the friendships lifelong. But something creative tugged at her, waiting for its season. “If I was a Swiftie,” she laughs, “I’d call this my next Era.”

Julia surrounds herself with generous, caring people and wanted to create something just as thoughtful for them to enjoy. The Smallest Room is her way of giving back with the most personal gift of all: a cue, a moment, a reminder to put themselves first every once in a while. 

Whether styled in the bathroom or around the home, her signature Chapter One Stool became that object. It’s a small but powerful invitation to rest, recharge, and reclaim space.

But this first piece is only the beginning. The Smallest Room will continue to grow, with new pieces designed to elevate the everyday.
